Children's Ministry
Welcome to Hill Country Church. We have many exciting opportunities for your children to be involved in fun filled, high energy programs that will help them learn about God and grow in faith as well as make new friends! Not only do we offer Sunday morning classes for the children, but we also have a midweek program for all ages on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30 p.m.
First, if you have a child in our nursery (birth-24 months), we know you will be thrilled with “Baby Beginnings”, a curriculum that incorporates bible stories, Christian music and beautiful pictures. We want our children to be influenced by the Word of God from the beginning of their lives so they have a solid foundation to build upon as they grow.
If you have a child in the 2-5 year old class, we use the curriculum First Look.
First Look uses several key strategies:
- Teach less for more: Repeats one key truth (Bottom Line) all month long
- Engage the five senses: Helps master the concept through creative activities
- Teach with the end in mind: Helps a child by age five, to believe:
- God made me
- God loves me.
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
- Experience worship: Encourages children to talk to God any time, any place
- Connect at home: Provides parents with ideas for conversation with their child at home
If you have a child in the 6-9 year old class, we use the curriculum 252 Basics. It is produced by the same company as First Look. 252 Basics is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Each Basic Truth is amplified by a weekly key concept and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month. Each lesson includes an engaging presentation of basic truths as well as an illustration of how God built His character in people. Activities include a variety of games and experiences meant to promote discussion and life application of the lesson, development of faith skills, and most importantly build relationships among the leader and friends in the group.
I hope your family is blessed by what God is doing through our Children’s Ministry. We would love the opportunity to be intimately involved with your children’s spiritual growth, enforcing positive, Godly messages in a loving and exciting environment. I pray that you will consider making Hill Country Church the place where your family comes to worship each Sunday morning. We hope to see you next weekend!
In Christ,
