Make a Difference Monday:
This is an opportunity to do something nice for someone that would put a smile on their face and in their heart.
Examples: help carry groceries, pay for the coffee for the person behind you, or pay some on the dry cleaning bill of the person behind you. Let someone get ahead of you in line, make cookies and give them to your mail person or your fed-ex/ups delivery person or someone you see on a regular basis. Babysit for a young mom so she can get away by herself for a few hours, or give her time to enjoy a long soaking bath, or a long nap. Change or have the oil changed for a neighbor, cut their grass, bath the dog. The purpose is to do something nice for someone and to do it in a way that brings glory to God. Be an example to those watching.
Turn it Around Tuesday:
Take something bad and turn it around to make something good out of it.
Examples: if someone leaves a mess in the kitchen at work, or a public restroom, clean it up. Pick up the trash, wipe off the counters. Leave it better than when you arrived. Bad things happen every day to all of us. Figure out a way to turn it around, and bring glory to God in the process.
Widows and Warriors Wednesday:
This is a day to help Widows and to honor Warriors.
Examples: Take a Widow to lunch, help her shop; take her to get her hair done. Take her a bag of groceries, send a very thoughtful card or note, take her a book, a cup of coffee, take her out for ice cream or just sit and visit for a while.
A Warrior is a military person, a fire fighter, a police officer, anyone who puts their life on the line to save our lives.
Examples of things to do: Send a care package to a military person state side or overseas. Include stamps, prepaid telephone cards, cookies and a thank you note or card. Send a thank you note or card to a local fire department or police department. There are many ways to honor our Warriors. Use your imagination and allow it to bring glory to God.
Thankful Thursday:
This day is about being thankful. First thank God for His grace, mercy and peace. Thank your spouse for putting up with you. Thank your parents, bosses, neighbors, children, doctors, nurses, and teachers. Thank your co-workers, the mail man, your waitress, the list is exhaustive. Pick a way to say thank you and give God the glory.
Forgiving Friday:
Ask forgiveness from God and others you may have sinned against. Be forgiving when someone sins against you. Remember we are to have the same attitude of Christ and our goal is to always have the light shinning on Him and not ourselves. To God be the glory.
Serving Saturday:
What a great day to serve someone. Be it your neighbor, your church family, your local hairdresser. Use the combination of everything you have done and learned through out the week and apply it. Lavish God’s love upon them. See them through the eyes of Jesus. You will be such a blessing to that special person, and even greater, you will receive a blessing from having a servant’s heart.
Spend Time with the One(s) You Love Sunday:
This should be self explanatory. Please don’t make me tell you how you should do this. The only thing I would encourage is that at the end of the day, whatever you did glorified God.
If service is not one of your most used spiritual gifts, then you are in for a treat. There are few things as rewarding as serving others.
